    An 8-year-old boy has drowned in a swimming pool in Queens.

    Police say the boy was found unconscious in the pool on 136th Street in Flushing at 7 p.m. Friday. He was taken to New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

    New York City Transit officials say the changes are expected to cut the time it takes for the bus to cross the Bronx by 20 percent.
